County Championship - Division One - 6 Aug
Durham vs Kent
Kent is that Mahmood's swollen knees may now rule him out of Wednesday's return to LV Championship action against Durham in Chester-le-Street.
Yasir Arafat (side strain), Darren Stevens (groin) and Justin Kemp (back spasms) are also unlikely to make trip north, leaving Kent down to the bare bones of a squad.

Player News
Yorkshire were having to do without overseas pace bowler Rana Naved, who was off the field with a sore neck and shoulder. He needed surgery on a dislocated right shoulder last year after a horrific fall in the outfield while playing for Sussex at Durham. But director of cricket Martyn Moxon said: "We don't think it's connected with what he had before, we're hoping he's going to be OK."

Chris Jordan pulling up with cramp, having only bowled 5.1 of his 8 overs and Schofield also leaving the field after he was struck hard on the right hand when fielding off his own bowling.

Kent will be waiting on the fitness of key all-rounder Darren Stevens, who is included in their 13-man squad. The 34-year-old missed Kent’s four-day LV Championship defeat in Somerset after complaining of a slight abductor muscle strain in his inner thigh. He underwent a scan on Friday revealing a slight tear in a muscle but is likely to play against Essex in Saturday’s first semi-final.If Stevens is passed fit, it will mean Key will have some tough selection choices to make.

Player Ramble
Anthony McGrath
Anthony McGrath suffered a slight hamstring strain this morning and misses the match - he has been replaced by Joe Sayers and Jacques Rudolph will captain the team.

On Twenty20 Cup Finals Day selection
Grant Flower, Chris Wright and Tim Phillips will all play in the 2nd XI this week - in a Championship match away to Somerset – before travelling on to the Rose Bowl at the end of the game on Friday. Alastair Cook has been made unavailable for selection by the ECB and Neil Dexter is unable to play against his ‘mother’ county – Kent – in our semi-final.

Others
Dan Birch resting an unspecified injury missed Derbyshires Bangladesh A game.
Gloucestershire County Cricket Club announce today that they have agreed with Carl Greenidge that he will be leaving the Club now rather than at the end of the season as announced 10 days ago.
Dillon du Preez was the only change from the side that drew at Derbyshire in their last outing, coming in for Garnett Kruger, who was laid-low by a virus.
Other Maybes
A drive from Dalrymple cannoned into the foot of the bowler – Steve Harmison – and then onto the stumps. Bowled more, and didn't get a chance to bat.
Interesting
Ben Harmison was ommitted from Durhams intial squad, yet still played.
Stuart Meaker, Laurie Evans and Jason Roy will be hoping to take their form into to the Second XI Championship game for Surrey against Sussex at the Brit Oval
Not News
Will Jefferson misses out with Darren Pattinson ’s elevation to the England Test side giving Paul Franks a place in the Notts bowling attack alongside Charlie Shreck, Andre Adams and Mark Ealham. “Bilal deserves his opportunity and he’s earned the chance to have an extended run in the side. Hopefully he’ll react positively and justify the selection.” said Notts Director of Cricket Mick Newell. “We gave Will every opportunity and he knows what he has to do to get back into the side and he’ll be keen to put his case forward in the second eleven.”
Summers Set
Steffan Jones replaces Andy Caddick (re-routed to a second XI fixture to get more overs under his belt as he continues his comeback from injury) in Somerset's Pro40 squad for Wednesday's clash with Durham at Chester-le-Street. The visitors will pick from 12 shortly before the game, with Jones and Mark Turner looking to break into the side beaten by six-wickets by Sussex in their opening Pro40 game on Sunday. Ian Blackwell is again omitted.

10 Day Cricket Weather Forecast - 22 July:
Wiki bowling and grabs a wicket
Tom New is actually classed as a keeper in some games . I only know of TFC which lists him as a batter-man (as they did last season, when he was one of the highest scorers during the pre TFC season opening games). Hell, even the club website list him as a catcher , with Gilchrist his most admired player (surely all catchers who open the batting say that, and all the rest say the same and want to open the batting  ).
Anyway, I'm really quite amazed when I saw he bowled a couple of overs and took a wicket. :D
